Tell me about your show Foiled and why people should come and see it?

My show Foiled is a comedy set and staged in an actual working hair salon called Bleach for the Stars. You should come because it's in a hairdressers, something different innit!

Foiled, Edinburgh Festival

Which performers have inspired you & how?

There are so so many! Rik Mayall, Monty Python, Julia Davies, Steve Pemberton and Reece Sheersmith - I've been inspired by all of their dark, physical, silly but beautifully crafted comedy writing and performances.

I often say choosing a favourite gin is like choosing between my children (which is why I don't have any) - What's your desert island gin & why?

Despite not having packed for Edinburgh i've just spent around 20 minutes deciding between Hendricks, Sipsmith and Tanqueray 10 - tough call but for the exquisite attention to detail in the distilling process, I'm going with Tanqueray 10 it's smooth and citrusy (is that a word?) flavour means you can drink it on it's own, which i'm guessing would be entirely necessary on a desert island. And when I send my message in the bottle, that's the bottle I'd want it to be found in.

I have many different favourite bars depending on the occasion. What's your favourite venue for:

A. A Dry Martini & Date Night?

B. A Red Snapper & Brunch?

C. Gin & a party?

A. My brother makes the best martini's, but guys tend to find it weird when I take him along on dates, so i'll settle for whoever is on the bar at Mr. Foggs.

B. A place called The Establishment in Battersea (which has now closed down) it has yet to be beaten.

C. My house!

Why Edfringe? What's the best bits?

The comedy and the nights out.

How did you get into performing?

My sterling performance of Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes at the age of 8 in front of friends and family in the living room, it just all lead from there.

What do you love most about performing?

It's the time when i'm most focused. It's exhilirating and just so much fun.

And the worst bits?

Being so open to judgement and criticism all the time.

Do you have any recommended reads for performers?

I, An Actor: Another great Actor Explores Himself. Nicholas Craig. It is an absolute hilarious essential read for any performer!

What are your Edfringe / Performing goals?

To get better!

What advice do you have for aspiring Edfringe Performers ?

Make sure you have a show you absolutely love and totally believe in.

The Last Word Cocktail

If you were a gin or a gin cocktail which would you be and why?

The Last Word. Because I like to have it? Does that work?

If you could share a Dry Martini with anyone who would it be?

Rik Mayall.

What's your pet Edfringe hate?

It can be very competitive.

If you aren't drinking Gin what is your tipple?

White Lightening of course, or anything that comes in a classy flagon.

Any other pearls of wisdom or Edfringe rants?

Just go and watch everything you can, take chances on unknown shows and take recommendations from people you trust!
